Control of fertility continues to be an important issue throught the world even though the population growth rate has shown a steady decline in many countries, partly owing to the extensive use of condoms (male) or with use the of oral contraceptives (female). Rubber condoms (male) are used by the majority of man today for enjoying the sexual inter course. The function of the condoms its to collect the sperm created by the man during sexual intercourse. This condoms prevents the sperm in penetrating into the female reproductory organ. Family planning experts in India are at present engaged in developing the cheapest and most effective contraceptives. So that they become a significant factor in India's family limitation programe. Intrauterine contraceptive devices are now being  manufactured  in this country. However, large quantities of  productive sheathes (condoms) are in use and are  also being manufactured indigenously. It has been found by experience that good quality condoms have a minimum tensile strength of 110 Kg/m2, a  minimum elongation of 650 percent and a maximum elongation of 650 percent and a maximum tension set of 10%. Rubber tends to deteriorate with age. This happens particularly in the case of thin  walled articles condoms are packaged in such a way so as to protect them normally during storage.
